One of the main advantages of a window with Roto NT Designo is increased airtightness and, as a result, higher thermal and sound insulation characteristics.

This is due to the structural difference between the Roto NT Designo standard and concealed hinge.

The air outside, through the drainage system, enters the inter-crestal space of the window and enters the room through the gap, which is formed as a result of deformation of the seal on the sash with a standard loop (scissor rocker). This is not a defect in the profile or fittings, this is a feature of the window device provided for by existing standards.

Blowing in the area of ​​the upper hinge in the case of using standard fittings is especially noticeable in openings in areas of increased wind load (for example, high floors of buildings, private suburban construction, etc.).

This is where Roto NT Designo hinges are needed. Their design provides that the seal contour on the sash does not bridge, does not form a gap, thereby ensuring the continuity of the seal and increased tightness.

Ordinary hinges are necessary window elements on which the sash is hung. But, despite their small size, they are not very aesthetic, therefore they are most often masked with plastic caps. This is no longer necessary when using Roto NT Designo fittings in Goodwin windows, where the fittings are hidden in the window rebate and are adapted for large and heavy sashes weighing up to 150 kg.
